Sourcing Alice frames and straps - Local or overseas?

Hi all, question re: ALICE frames:
for those who have them - whats the best place to find them? I've found some local suppliers - (army surplus stores: Platatac, Mitchells) but these are often frames only for $80-100 AUD. It seems the cheaper option is to import them from the US.
any advice?

From memory I picked up one for about $10 with $20 shipping on ebay, every surplus store I checked with in Sydney were way to expensive
Happy hunting

I got mine from
Uncle Sam's Army Navy Surplus, and although it said 'no straps' it came with them *shrugs*.
Either way, it was way cheaper then buying it over here, especially as I got my belts, boots and flightsuit at the same time (the boots were WAY cheaper then over here).

Spotted this auction - looks like the right frame - and the seller has offered a deal on several shipped together.

Ditto. I wish I could remember what I did with the backpack, though, the damn thing went MIA after I took the ALICE frame off it.
They're harder to find at Disposals now, because you've probably noticed that Disposal stores these days don't stock much ex-military stuff. They only seem to stock civilian camping gear, or cheap military knock-offs.
To answer the burning question, yeah it probably will be marginally cheaper to buy one from the US. Even with the declining Aussie Dollar.

Unfortunately, since moving to Australia I've found that I can find a lot of things cheaper in the U.S. even when adding shipping to the cost.
