Why does that matter? If it was posted in its own thread suddenly it takes on an air of truth?
Because it wasn't ever a leak on reddit. The thread was titled "Ghostbusters 2020 Predictions" and said "anything goes". The og comment is the deleted one with the comments "So... how the hell did you get access to the script?!" "This is written too well to NOT be the script.".

I'm not sure what you're asking? lol. Yes, I believe the 4chan supposed test screening spoiler thread over a reddit speculation thread from a year ago.
Well this is pretty interesting. There are some things in this I would love to believe. Especially that potential ending. Would kind of make it feel like everything has come full circle. One way or another very much looking forward to finding out for myself if this has any credibility.
If this is real I can see how this could still have The 2009 Video Game fit into continuity. Okay so Shandor is possibly the bad guy, that’s cool. It still fits into the rules of the world. Okay here me out, they say One Destructor form per god per dimension. Shandor achieved a destructor form, but he achieved it when he was in the Ghost World. He never entered the real world in that form. So it would make sense for him to be a ghost again in the real world. I know he was supposedly destroyed when the Ghostbusters crossed the streams. The rules of Ghostbusters state that entity’s or spectral energy can’t really be destroyed they only change form. So it could still make sense.

Forgive what I’ve said in my spoiler tag I am just overthinking on something that may not even be true. LOL!
Perhaps the references to some of the characters being de-aged with CGI might be to fill in some of the gaps between 89/91 -2020. I’ve read that at least two of the OGBs are de-aged throughout this last few pages.
Person says they went to a GB: Afterlife screening. Full plot leaked? (SPOILERS)

Please read at your own risk.
It seems to match up with the trailers so PLEASE beware this probably contains SPOILERS for the entire plot. -

Apparently they gave info at the screening such as the budget was around $80 million and they are finished with it.
The OP thought it was a good movie but don't expect a comedy like the original. It's more like The Force Awakens "but better" because they go further with the concept.
Speculation seems to be right and Summerville is filled with Gozer worshipers.
One big twist we never thought of: Paul Rudd is a descendant of Shandor. Although he, as well as the audience, doesn't find out until act 3.
Shandor appears as a ghost played by JK Simmons.
All 3 OG busters suit up for the final battle. Gozer can teleport people now and teleports everyone to the firehouse HQ in NYC. Gozer transforms into an entity that resembles a terror dog. The firehouse gets destroyed. The movie ends with the OGs and the kids rebuilding the firehouse. Egon appears as a ghost and smiles at them. They get a call and they all go to on a job together and the movie ends. OP called it "beautiful"
Ghosts in the movie include: Slimer, 3 terror dogs, a ghost lady, ghost police car (the sheriffs car turns into it), ghost toilet, ghost baby staypufts (apparently in the barn), three Slimer like ghosts
There is a Gozer mini temple down in the mine.
The film opens with a de aged cgi Egon in summerville fighting the Gozer followers who want to bring him back. He stops them and then retires in the farmhouse but keeps the equipment to occasionally check. (OP said they don't know who played him, possibly Oliver Cooper aka "Elton"???)
He apparently dies of old age or a disease. The OG's don't bring it up.
Trevor and Celeste are pretty much friends but Phoebe falls for Logan Kims character.
Celeste is Winston's granddaughter.
Janine and Winston are married.
Callie is Egon's daughter - Trevor and Phoebe are Egon's grandkids (obviously...)
The suits are the 84 ones. The ecto 1 in the barn is the one from 84 that Egon rebuilt. Ray references the statue of liberty incident and acts apparently "senile" in the movie.
Paul Rudds full character name is Jason Shandor Grooberson.
Dana and Peter seem happy together. She doesn't do much except give some exposition.

Thank you for this, but where is all the additional information coming from?
For example:
Firehouse gets destroyed. Oscar and References to GB2. Dana and Peter doing fine... I couldn't find those when I looked at the links. I saw the other information, but this info wasn't seen in the link
Just watched the new Tom Hanks movie (Greyhound) on Apple TV. Originally meant to be a cinema release but moved to streaming as a result of the situation.
Been discussed before I’m sure but I wonder if there were discussions about Afterlife being streamed? Can’t imagine it would lose the company money as prices for streamed films in the UK (SKY Store) tend to be higher than cinema ticket prices. Which is saying something!

That's because you can invite many people to watch a stream, watch it multiple times in the 24 hours you start, etc.
I'm confused. Parts of it are like, naaah, but there is an element I saw on this presentation in January and I know it's in the movie. Much of it is not what I wanted but I'm sure Jason can great things with it.
I guess it's fanfiction. It called Logan Kim Logan Kim but Paul Rudd "Mr Grooberman" - Grooberson was known, Kim's character name not so much. The finale with the firehouse doesn't make any sense and we saw in the January article (about Murray) the barn in the background, so I believe this is the showdown's location.

Gozer would go to the firehouse and teleport the team there also? I mean, unless the containment unit is still there?

Yeah that & the marriage are 2 that I don't buy.
Yeah took the words right out of my mouth. The more I read there are a few things that seem off. For one thing would there really be test screenings going on right now with all this COVID stuff going on?
The firehouse, Winston\Janine marriage. Those are the parts that seem a bit more like fan fiction. Sounds cool, but it really makes no sense for Shandor to teleport the Ghostbusters to their old Firehouse where they would have home field advantage. That would just be thrown in fan service and I don’t think that is a card Jason Reitman would play.
There was a test screening during the initial lockdown but it was for studio execs/people already working there. People not likely to make an anonymous account on 4chan with goofy spelling errors and broken English.
the kids working with their grandparents at the firehouse was odd too. Like, did they drop out of school? Logan Kim's parents just let him move to NYC?

Yeah we’re discussing this in the main thread and I think the general consensus is that someone on 4chan has just watched the trailer quite few times and is just making up their own fan fiction. I’ll admit I jumped on it because I was hungry for more news, but when I started reading through the actual 4chan discussion it started to click that something is not quite on the level.

Grooberson doesn't connect his middle name "Shandor" to what's going on... in a mining town named after the same name? We know the name is in wrought iron at the mine's entrance. It would probably be labelled on the maps he's reading in that still photo from the Vanity fair article. It'd sure be on the memorial we've seen leaked pictures of.
Janine and Winston's daughter just happens to end up in the same podunk town that Egon's grandkids wind up in? On that subject, Winston and Janine share exactly one scene and two sentences together throughout two films. They interact for exactly 17 seconds. The whole relationship angle strains credibility. Not impossible, but not likely either.
The most specific claim -- JK Simmons being in the film -- has already been openly speculated since he had time after Counterpart was cancelled and he worked with Reitman previously.
Just sounds like another hot reading with fanfic thrown in, especially that teleporting part. That sounds like what a fan desperately wants and found a way to connect. "Why haven't we seen film crews at either interior or exterior firehouse locations?" "Oh, they get teleported inside! They just built a replica set!" As if a budget-conscious movie wouldn't just reuse the same assets for shooting when possible.
Its most likley someone whos followed rumors connecting the gaps. We all do it in one way or another, espically here in the Spoilers section. This person just happens to be saying its all true.
Guess we will know in ANOTHER 8 LONG ENDLESS MONTHS!
And then the depression set it... Im going to go cry now!
I mean yes some things seem off however they do have test screenings more often than you think.
I've attended a lot of early screenings for comedic movies, they send those emails out all the time. My friend got to be a test audience for Ghostbusters 2016, that's why for me personally I feel like there could be more to it than just a random person putting random pieces up for attention.
The leak also fits with some of the early GB Afterlife Hasbro toys
Well, we explained already why we think some parts feel very unlikely, vague and missing on details, and if you know it fits some of the early leaks, he or she might have known and deliberately incorporated those in as well.
GozerHadACoolDesign wrote: ↑July 12th, 2020, 11:57 pm Are we quick to disbelieve the leak?
Maybe, but I think we all should be employing Occam's Razor: The simplest explanation is that the person reporting the leak has made it up.
Beyond that, I don't understand why folks are so keen to seek them out... The official leaks and teasers from the studio I get, as it offers a bit of a hint at what we're gonna see... But I don't understand why people are seeking out more substantial stuff that could spoil large chunks of the film, rather than let the stuff potentially being spoiled genuinely surprise them when they see the film next year.
My two cents: I'll believe any leak once the end credits roll on opening day. Until then, anything leaked or otherwise is basically speculation and/or hearsay. Considering the amount of false leads and non-existent scenes shown in a lot of big releases the past few years, I'll take it all in with a giant spoonful of salt.

Simple answer: were net nerds suffering from cabin fever during a pandemic. Were begging for dog treats to no avail. Our large puppy dog eyes apparently have no effect on Sony's tight leash.
