I was actually surprised it wasn't an Afterlife reference, as I think this one should have come out after it and they are both Sony movies.

Thought this was a bit lame. Didn't laugh much. Style was awesome, though!

I was watching ALF on prime and had to post this reference. It's new to me but in this episode Alf has a juice box on the computer table. Ecto Cooler perhaps? Not in this clip, but same episode.

Didn't see this was already posted, delete if you have to. Shows me for not looking back a few pages!

Given how good The Simpsons are at predicting the future, looks like 4 more Ghostbusters films!

I couldn't tell if it was a new episode or older episode, but I just saw Impractical Jokers, and Brian Quinn was wearing a full Ghostbusters outfit during a challenge in which they had to fool people with different disguises.

Unfortunately, I can't find the clip, but I found this video where he's basically wearing the same get-up. Certainly not screen accurate with the Spirit pack and welding goggles, but apparently he's a huge ghosthead. Check it out:

The Amazing World of Gumball had another one recently, with an episode called "The Scam." It was Ghostbusters by way of Michael J. Fox's scheme in The Frighteners, with Gumball and Darwin's ghost friend engaging in malevolent-yet-harmless pranks, whereupon they would "catch" her with backpack vacuum cleaners.

So this isn’t related to Afterlife but as I just saw this commercial I was totally expecting the tie in! Those “lasers” coming out of her eyes look veerrryyyyy familiar…

Thanks for moving that kingpin, I figured it shouldn’t be in the afterlife thread even though I totally expected a no ghost logo to pop up at the end! One thing we do know, whoever made that commercial is probably a GB fan.

I believe this is one not previously reported here. The Honeymooners episode of Archer, season 4 features this Geiger Counter:

Sticking to the subject of Archer, there are two Ghostbusters references in the show's 7th season:

In The Handoff (episode 2), Archer refers to Alan Shapiro, usually dressed in an obnoxious white three-piece suit as "Senator Stay Puft".

In Deadly Velvet: Part I (episode 9), a familiar building shows up on a film lot:

I'm a supporter of Bayer 04 Leverkusen (German top tier Bundesliga soccer/football club). Our arch rivals are from Cologne, and they have a goat in their club's logo. Back in 2004 we did a tifo called "Goatbusters":

Sorry can't find better photos of it anymore.

Fast forward to 2017-the Goatbusters were back!

In the last episode of "How I Met Your Mother", right before the LAST AND GREATEST HIGH FIVE EVER scene Barney says.."See you on the other side Ray" then Ted responds.."Nice working with you Dr. Venkman" lol. Then they give a massive high five.

I laughed.
There was also an episode where Marshall was looking for a job. A white ambulance drove by, and he looked up and saw that he was standing in front of THE firehouse. Then Ernie Hudson came up to him, and asked to borrow his phone. Marshall took it as a sign to be a Ghostbuster, but even Ernie Hudson said it was a bad idea. Good stuff! :whatever:
THAT scene is sooooo good!

It's nice seeing Hook & Ladder 8 and Ernie, but if that scene's representative of the show in general: awful "comedy" music, stilted... over-the-top acting... Then I'll never understand why it ended up being as popular as it was.

HIMYM tended to be over-the-top only in silly moments like that. That's not representative of the whole show, it's rather one element of exagerated story-telling.

Simpsons - Homer buys an ambulance

Pretty much accurate to how Ray bought the Ecto.

Simpsons - Ivan Reitman directs the 2010 Vancouver Olympics opening ceremony (starts at 00:41)

The fifth episode of Inside Job, "The Brettfast Club" is absolutely chock-full of reference to Ghostbusters, as well as '80s culture from 1980-1984.

In the new Netflix movie, Tick, Tick, BOOM! Andrew Garfield as Jonathan Larson answers the phone in the diner he works in by saying, "Moondance Diner, whaddya want?! ...that was a Ghostbusters reference!"

Not often we get the reference confirmed by the script itself! Excellent film too, if you like your New York art world stuff.

Should have mentioned it in the other topic but Scooby Doo Music of the Vampire has 2 references.

Also in this Fred invents a backpack that shoots wooden stakes but couldn’t find a clip or pic.

Then this. Grizzy and the Lemmings is one my favorite cartoons. It comes out on Boomerang and but it’s on hiatus. They aired this new episode last year before the movie released. I encourage everyone to watch it (it’s just 6 minutes) and I highly recommend the show in general. It’s very clever imo. Especially the first couple seasons. It references things from pop culture but not all the time. Zenithal is the fictional company that makes different products.

So glad they put it up. Happens to be a foreign airing but it’s ok nobody talks like Tom and Jerry.

Hello there,
this is my first post!
I've been following this funny thread but I couldn't find the "mother of all references"!!!
So I've just posted it on youtube.
It's from the Fran Drescher Tv series "Happily Divorced", I'm not going to say anything else. Enjoy! ;)

Which reminds me...

Only a small exchange at the beginning is GB-themed, while the rest is a nod to a classic SNL skit where Aykroyd allegedly defied the censors and showed his butt crack on live TV.

I take that account with a grain of salt. None of the following lines would have made sense if his crack hadn't been visible.
