I typically use my Matty PKE when I suit up for conventions or events. After one event, my PKE slipped out of the holster and fell. *PAINFUL GASP* I switched it on to check on it's functionality, the wings, and lights work fine, but not more sound. I tried new batteries, didn't fix the issue.

Anyone run until the same situation? Am I better off just replacing the electronics for a custom kit?

Sounds like it might have accidentally switched the meter to "prop mode". Try pressing and holding the top two silver buttons on the front display below the two red lights. That switches the replica from "movie mode" to "prop mode", and vice versa. Basically, "prop mode" has all the same features as "movie mode" (lights, moving wings, etc.), but it will deactivate the sounds. Personally, I was disappointed they didn't go for a more accurate sound effect.

It's either that or a wire was dislodged when it hit the floor. I'd suggest checking that before looking into replacing the audio completely.
