So this weekend there was an 80s themed 5k run in my town of Augusta, GA. Needless to say there isnt anything more 80s than Ghostbusters, so myself and my fiancee totally owned the costume contest. I was wearing the full proton pack and she had the jumpsuit and belt. Ignore the small details that are missing, I was up late the night before making sure the electronics worked and putting on stickers. We didn't do too bad in the run either, I ran with the pack and got lots of people snapping pics.

Here we are on the Augusta Chronicle Slide show, starts at picture 22.

I seriously could not imagine what that would be like. I'd be all like, "Did that come loose? Did that break? Man, this stuff is heavy."
Great job though to you two!

Not to mention the rattle that would drive me nuts. I keep my keys folded in my pocket so even they dont make noise! OCD kicking in with old age I guess.

So glad I'm not the only one!
Although, I guess it wouldn't be so bad if the pack were a foam one.

The pack is foam. It only weighed about 4 pounds and most of the small pieces were also painted foam so it was definitely not heavy and I dont think it rattled too much. The gun mount was alright too, since the entire proton gun weighed very little, it also stayed attached for the entire run. I did draw the gun and run with it for the last 1/2 mile.

Overall it was a slow run, but it was really fun. Also got a gift card to sporting goods store for winning the costume contest.

Thanks for the good words. I can post a build thread eventually when its done. Basically it was made out of the glued together foam board used to insulate houses and aluminum tape around the outside to give it a shiny metallic texture. I then painted the aluminum tape, and scraped off some paint to give it some wear and tear, it looks like its solid aluminum(sort of). The small details are craft foam board from any hobby store.

Overall very inexpensive, but super time consuming to line every foam surface with aluminum tape, and makeit not look like wrinkled tin-foil. Ill make a build thread after the holidays since I havent seen many foam versions, and definitely not using the aluminum tape method.
