Single centre pin, cheap-o multi-pinned surround.... Hmmm.... Might be an old 3rd party atari 5200 AV connector with a Nautical housing & wiring barfing off of it.
(Why didnt I zoom in on it EARLIER?? )

Correction.... a SEGA AV Housing???
Jesus... the more I dig into this, the more I find... Houston, we have what looks like a Wiener...
BUT... It wouldve been the 3rd party attachment for the TRS-80 Colour Computer II/III from Tandy... Respectfully - Radio Shack.
I know this Because I had the Model II with one of the 3rd party DAT-Decks.
....
But Im Spent! Outta Ideas.

I think its part of a plastic cable gland, meant for waterproofing cable entry points in different applications. They come in various sizes, here's a few that are pretty close:
My guess it's one of those with some sort of cap on the end that meets the wires.
I have a box of assorted sizes coming, I should be able to figure out what size matches this coming week
What the other end of the data cable is plugged into is going to be a mystery for a while until we get another trailer haha

There's something funky going on with the foot plate on the pedal, it almost looks twice as tall as a GB1 or GB2 equivalent. I wonder if it's for the same reason that the relay has been "relaycated".

What’s the thing Logan Kim is pointing while Phoebe is firing the proton pack in the international trailer? Is that a real instrument or a new Ghostbusting tool?
That's what she said.
- December 14th, 2019, 6:19 pm#4928934
Logan appears to be using a moisture-resistant shotgun microphone with a pistol grip shockmount and windjammer, similar to this one:
-It looks like the cable's been coiled though, to give it a bit of character/age.

While I'm not a proton pack specialist and can't comment on the exact molds etc used. I can only for myself at any rate agree with a few others here. The equipment is updated or altered since GB2 has happened. Now weather there have been no paranormal activity for 30 actually or if Grooberson is making a general comment or maybe the events the guys dealt with were not a major media grabbing items I don't know. In any event and for whatever reason the equipment has been updated or was in the process of being updated hence what's on the table. I can't say I'm thrilled about a 12 year old girl using a full sized pack and not getting blown on her kisser however I don't mind the gunner seat idea. That being said I'm not at the point where I'm going to dismiss the film that took 30 years to get just because of one small scene so far. Maybe these new versions are explained and what changes they have...lighter?, wakefield easier to control? proton stream differences in color due to new process of supercharging the hydrogen. I only hope we get a visual dictionary type book that shows these props in really good views.
"Well that's fine Louis...we got arrested at night" *head slam*

The thing is, most people are going by the assumption that the 30 years line is in reference to GB2 based on the fact that it's 2019 but if the movie is set in 2020 that would put the last ghost sighting in 1990.
Even though it could still be said that that's referencing gb2 given that the Vigo battle was still going after midnight on new years eve.
Technically though, it would give them up to a year after the events of GB2 to have produced the upgrades to the gear and ecto amongst other things that we see in the trailer before the business presumably went quiet.

I would say you're right on Kingpin - that's a newer Rycote mount and it looks like they wrapped the handle with tape. I would guess the mic could be an Audio Technica but hard to say. Looks like a right-angle coiled XLR cable but with male/female opposite of the picture I posted. The phones look like Sony 7506 and I am 99.9% sure the recorder is a Tascam HDP2.

I also just noticed the trap hose is no longer split loom but an actual rubber hose
- December 15th, 2019, 8:19 pm#4928984
It looks like they replaced all of short pieces of 1/4" split loom on the vinyl hosing on the injector tubes with these connectors. What I have pictured is a Sealcon CF07AA-BK Liquid Tight Nylon Strain Relief Flex Nut.
I'm pretty sure it's the same thing on the end of that extra set of wires with the yellow PET braided wire sleeve.

I learned about these strain relief connectors back in September when I got to handle one and see some production photos of some GB2-style stunt packs built for the film. While I was asked not to divulge any details about the parts prior to the trailer being released, I suppose they can now be discussed since they are prominently featured in the trailer.
They appear to match those produced by Dayton (model #32J074), but as per Matt's post, it seems that there are at least a few different manufacturers of them. They're definitely a neat addition to the new packs and visually more interesting than the split loom boots.

It's also worth noting that these packs used the newer glossy Spectra strip ribbon cable (instead of the GB2-accurate matte finish) as well as a more standard green tubing on the thrower instead of the accurate dark green Clippard hose.

And how many stunt packs in the photos? The photos I saw featured four GB2-style packs that looked more or less like the originals, except they did have the strain-relief connectors in lieu of the split loom boots; I don't recall seeing the neon yellow power cable on any of them. While they were described as 'stunt' packs for use in a possible flashback sequence, they were much better built than the GB1 or GB2 stunt packs that we're familiar with.

That's interesting, cool bit about the strain relief connector. It's cool that they are changing some small things, those tiny pieces of splitloom always came unglued for me anyways lol DVC, sorry if I missed it but was was your involvement with the new film? If you can't post here PM me, I'm just curious

So I got some of the parts in to replicate the new cable (What do you guys want to call it? Data Cable, Proton Charging Connection?).
The wire wrap was listed as Neon Yellow, but is to me...very normal yellow......almost like the ghost trap stripes. I may return this if I can find a truly neon version as alternative. The cable gland size is PG7, I got a variety pack and this seems to be the closest. The next size up PG9 seems too big. I still think there's some sort shrink wrap or rubber cap to the upper threads of the cable gland, I just used electrical tape as a concept. Let me know what you guys think. All this stuff comes in bulk pretty much so I might be able to offer kits at a cheap price to the community (Once I'm a supporting member of course )

Now we just need to determine where the cable terminates (possibly the ribbon cable hole?) and whether the cable gland plugs into something or just hangs freely. Granted, it's disconnected when Phoebe finds it on the workbench, but it's just barely obscured during the scene at the end of the international trailer.

I have the feeling whatever ends up connecting to the end of this yellow cable is probably going to prove instrumental in the resolution of the threat in Afterlife, a piece of gear Egon was working on but either never got to finish, or test out.

There is a close up of the proton gun and its a gb2 style gun.

From a casual observer's glance:
The clear/white light cover on the top of the Proton Gun, and the red SLOBLO cover don't appear to be gutted arcolectric neon indicators, possibly a plastic replacement like some of the cheaper alternatives we've been using for years.
The bargraph is (likely*) a new piece, with a taller transparent cover.
*I'm not sure they could easily source another bargraph idential to the one used on the Super Hero, and with the advance of electronics, they probably whipped up their own LED equivalent.
The welding on the rear handle looks neater, with smaller overlapping blobs of weld metal.
