Probably Jason and Gil saying what their roles in the movie will be, the director if not one of them, maybe a tease of cast - some being present or virtually, and when filming is. Would be cool if they showed off a reel of deleted material from Afterlife or found more GB1-GB2 deleted footage from some unearthed vault.

Most likely some exclusive T-shirts on the GB website, some teases of the 2 video games, and the recently reported on Hasbro Plasma Series Selfie Series going live. Maybe tease an update on the Haslab pack's manufacturing. Guaranteed there will be a tribute to Ivan Reitman and his legacy.

And sure, a little curious if the GB Day festivities will be a live event or still be restricted to virtual.

Afterlife will be screened at Calley Park on the Sony Pictures Studios lot on June 8 after gates open at 7:30 pm with a special announcement from Jason and Gil. Do have to reserve a ticket(s).

What GB fans think when they hear “special announcement”: “Oh my god! They are going to give us details on the next movie!”

The actual special announcement: “We are making a new Ghostbusters lunchbox. It’s blue.”

We think the worst could happen, but let's cross our fingers that Jason doesn't get up on stage and say "You've all been wonderful fans but I'm jumping ship and filming Bill and Ted 4 instead."

Given there have been two(?) rough announcements of a new GB movie in recent weeks, it's not a leap to suggest that they may re-confirm it.

However I wonder if it'll follow the "different directors" model they have discussed recently.

Y'all's heads will probably turn but I hope the major announcement refers to the animated movie not being dead and there'd be some good info revealed. I hope the festivities are at least confirmed to be in-person and virtual to satisfy both crowds.

Better be a damn durable lunchbox then :P

I bet this is gonna be a fully realized Ecto Force that picks up from Afterlife's ending with an Extreme GB type scenario (the kids are our protagonists with Ray and/or Winston as the mentor) like I've been speculating given how that series was initially described ;)

I always feel a bit of an odd one out having no interest in the cartoons (this side of the 90s at least), but maybe this'll be a bit more nostalgic in the same way the new Chip N Dale film was.

Haslab/Hasbro Pulse posted about Ghostbusters day (nothing special, just the puffs video that Sony etc. put out to hype it up). May or may not be significant - 84 pack and wand to follow the mega success of the Afterlife pack and wand?

Sadly at 11pm local time for me. Ugh. :(

But the announcement will be worth it.

Wow. This was WAY more than I expected to wake up to this morning. Just some thoughts.

Weird they streamed on instagram exclusively. Here's a youtube live reaction video:

The BTS of the firehouse pick up shoot was neat, but offered nothing new. Brought back memories of all the leaked photos and the speculation. Music video for sure...lol. Served as a nice "stand-in" teaser for the next movie. Afterlife released in June 20-March 21 would have been a different experience. Wonder what we would have gotten instead of that scene...

Great that Hasbro says more GB toys are in the pipeline. Why they didn't reveal at least one new thing is beyond me. The Haslab pack updates were great but...why not bring that pack with you up on stage and demonstrate it? Instead they almost hide all the good new stuff in a hasty edited blog post. Not even the official Hasbro Pulse twitter posted anything about it. It's a strange company.

Dan's message and introduction for Jason and Gil was really heart-warming. It's amazing to have them all recognize that this franchise survived through the dark ages since 1989 solely due to the dedicated fans and fan franchises.

Canon, canon, canon. Wow. I guess the Dark Horse comics will tell the story of the aftermath of GB2 up to the Summerville incident. The cartoon to show the past of ghostbusting, including Tobin, as well as Ghostbusters around the world, past present and future. No idea for the setting of the animated movie.

"Firehouse" - hell yeah! I guess shooting will start next year at the earliest, release in 2024, teaser maybe late this year or at next Ecto-Fest.

What a time to be a Ghostbuster. Honestly, I never thought I'd see a day like this for the franchise. Even after the success of Afterlife.
