As far as I know the 1A was disassembled when the ECTO-1 was restored, the plan was to restore it as well. But Sony never funded it, so it remained in pieces for about 10 years. Eventually it was converted into an ECTO-1 specifically so it could be used for Ghostbusters: Afterlife. I'm not sure if it's now sitting on display at Sony or if that's a different one (an ECTO which was built just for Afterlife).
