I tried 2 different power banks wired directly to the battery terminals and I can only get the pack to power on but once the wand is tried it just shuts off. Is there a resistor wired in for the batteries to bring them down to 5v instead of 6v and it's dropping the power bank from 5v to 4v?

Had the same problem but apparently it was the USB extension cord i ran from the battery to the mobo. Removed that and with a single cable everything works fine for now.
